Professionals interested in occupational health and public health are invited to attend this  conference sponsored by the Michigan Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association (MOEMA) and the Michigan Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine Physicians (MAPPP).

Detroit Zoological Society (DZS) Worksite Visit - September 21, 2023 This worksite visit will provide an opportunity explore how the health and safety issues of employees of a zoological facility are managed. The program will consist of a slide presentation and discussion followed by a walking tour of selected areas of the zoological park. The tour is planned for 2.5 hours of CME for participants. The program is led by the Occupational Health and Safety Manager of the DZS.

Guests of MOEMA Attendees Registered attendees of the MOEMA annual scientific meeting DZS worksite tour are not required to purchase DZS tickets. Attendees are permitted to bring an adult guest. Guests must be registered as such and as indicated on the MOEMA program brochure. Guests are also required to obtain advance general admission tickets that they secure independently. General admission tickets are less expensive if purchased well in advance. They are available online at TICKETS - Detroit Zoo and you must ensure the ticket is for September 21, 2023. Guests who are Detroit Zoological Society members may not be required to book reservations to visit the Detroit Zoo during daytime hours, but they should confirm this with the DZS.

Tour Schedule Registered attendees and guests are asked to arrive at the zoo by 1:30 pm. The formal program will begin at 2:00 pm at the Ford Education Center. There will be a slide presentation with ample time for questions and answers; this will last approximately 20 to 40 minutes, depending on audience interest. This will be followed by a walking tour. The zoo closes at 5 pm. (directions to DZS)
